Student Induction Programme (SIP): A Complete Guide for CSEET Aspirants

Vishesh Academy of Commerce – Hisar

In the dynamic world of professional education, clarity, guidance, and the right start play a crucial role in shaping a student’s career. With the restructuring of the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) effective from 16 December 2025, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has introduced an important and mandatory initiative known as the Student Induction Programme (SIP).

At Vishesh Academy of Commerce, Hisar, we believe in keeping our students fully informed and professionally prepared. This detailed blog will help you understand everything about the Student Induction Programme (SIP)—its purpose, importance, eligibility, and how it fits into your CS journey.

What is the Student Induction Programme (SIP)?

The Student Induction Programme (SIP) is a one-day mandatory programme introduced by ICSI for students who register under the restructured CSEET from 16.12.2025 onwards.

The primary objective of SIP is to familiarize students with the Company Secretaryship course and provide them with a clear understanding of the CS profession, ethics, responsibilities, and career opportunities.

Completion of SIP is compulsory and acts as a pre-requisite for enrolling and appearing in the CSEET examination.

Who is Required to Attend SIP?

The SIP is mandatory for:

  • Students registered in the restructured CSEET
  • Registrations effective from 16 December 2025 onwards

If you fall under this category, you must complete SIP within one month of your CSEET registration.

Why Has ICSI Introduced the SIP?

ICSI aims to ensure that students entering the CS course:

  • Clearly understand the structure of the CS course
  • Are aware of the professional journey of a Company Secretary
  • Learn about professional ethics and discipline
  • Get clarity on career paths, roles, and responsibilities
  • Start their CS journey with the right mindset and direction

The SIP bridges the gap between academic learning and professional expectations, helping students align their goals from day one.

Duration and Timeline of SIP

  • Duration: One Day Programme
  • Timeline: Must be completed within one month of CSEET registration

Students are advised not to wait until the last date and should attend SIP at the earliest possible opportunity.

Where Can Students Attend SIP?

Students are required to attend SIP at:

  • Nearest ICSI Regional Office or
  • ICSI Chapter

The schedule of SIP may vary from region to region. Therefore, students should regularly check updates or directly contact their nearest ICSI office.

Important Advisory from ICSI

ICSI strongly advises students to:

  • Contact their nearest ICSI office (Regional/Chapter)
  • Get the latest SIP schedule
  • Attend SIP well before the due date

This proactive approach ensures smooth completion of SIP without any last-minute issues.
